Ham Fair 2000 Coming Up!!
Every year, at the end of August, JARL holds the Amateur Radio Festival (Ham Fair). It promises to have something for everyone. There are, for instance, "Giant Flea Market Space", JARL's Special Commemorative Station "8J1HAM", "Work Shop" which adults as well as kids can enjoy assembling kits, "Exhibition of Amateur Satellite", "Home Brew Equipment Contest" and "Drawing Contest" which good works will be awarded by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, variety of JARL customer services and many more!!

Not to be forgotten is the JAIA Fair sponsored by the Japan Amateur Radio Industries Association, displaying their tempting array of various updated and sophisticated equipment. In addition, this year, JARL's special commemorative "Millennium 2000 Station, 8J2000" will be set up!!

At "Pacifico Yokohama"
JARL's largest event "Amateur Radio Festival" better known as Ham Fair will be held at "Pacifico Yokohama" (Pacific Convention Plaza Yokohama) which is one of the largest international convention centers in the world. It is located in Yokohama. All facilities in this area called "Minato Mirai 21" are bordered by the beautiful water-front Rinkoh (port) Park, and on the other side, buildings including big shopping mall, the Yokohama Museum of Arts, and the highest tower in Japan, Landmark Tower...etc.

"Ham Fair 2000" will be held in the Exhibition Hall (10,000 square meters of column-free space!!) in Pacifico Yokohama, and last three days from August 18, Friday to 20, Sunday. Doors will be open from 10 o'clock in the morning to 5 in the evening. Admission is 1,500 yen, good for all 3 days. Students up to middle-high school are free of charge.

Yokohama is facing the western coast of Tokyo Bay and lies a mere 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from Tokyo.
12 minutes walk from "Sakuragicho" Station
5 minutes by car from "Yokohama" Station
20 minutes by train (JR/subway) from "Shin-Yokohama" Shinkansen (Bullet Train) Station
5 minutes by bus from Yokohama Station's East Exit.
